Its an old Netcom modem I think, and would never have had any updated firmware in the many years that he has had it.

He is using AVG Internet Security Business Edition where I have turned off the fire wall, no luck so totally disabled AVG and still it wont load the web page. Is there anything that someone might be able to suggest to resolve the issue. I am with Internode and I have no problem whatsoever. Also, kindly do a Ping test and a Trace Route test to I have since left my friends place but, before I left, I turned off the modem for about 30-40 seconds and then plugged the lead back in again. As to reconfiguring the modem, I did log into it using 10.1.1.1 and had a look but as I am not familiar with his modem I did'nt see anything unusual.
